Yin (阴) & Yang (阳)

Yin and Yang concept has existed thousands years ago, sourced from I-ching (Book of Transformation/Kitab Perubahan). Yin is equal to darkness, sadness, negative, passive, coldness, feminine, and so on. In the other hand, Yang is equal to light, happiness, active, positive, warm, masculine, and so on.Yin and Yang symbol used to express:

Balance. Everything on this world have to have balance between two different sides. Our duty is to keep the balance of the two sides. If imbalance occurs, it will harm ourselves. People will be sick, suffer, fail, etc because of balance interruption. So, in business and working, we must have balance between promise and reality, between context and content.

Dualism reality. Everything on this world has antagonist side, but they depend each other and complete each other. There's no light without dark, no good without evil, no rich without poor, etc.

Eternal rotating wheel. It means, there's always change, dynamics. Or I can say: "transformation from one form to another form". From warm to cold, from life to dead, from poor to rich, from fail to success, etc.

Nothing is perfect. A white spot on the dark side, and a dark spot on the white side tell us that there's nothing perfect, no perfect goodness, no perfect evil.


Dao De Jing, chapter 2:
When beauty is abstracted
Then ugliness has been implied
When good is abstracted
Then evil has been implied

So:
Alive and dead are abstracted from nature
Difficult and easy abstracted from progress
Long and short abstracted from contrast
High and low abstracted from depth
Song and speech abstracted from melody
After and before abstracted from sequence.

Everything, Every Creature Have Its Own Superiority and Inferiority

One morning, a mouse appeared from his rat hole. He saw the sunshine that shines so brightly. Feel amazed, he said: "Mr. Sun, you are the greatest in the world."

Sun: " If the cloud appears, you won't be able to see me anymore, and so do I. The cloud is the greatest."

The mouse then turned to the cloud and said: "Mr. Cloud, you are the greatest in the world."

"You ere wrong. When the wind comes, I will be sent away." Said the cloud.

"Mr. Wind, you really are the greatest in the world." The mouse said.

"I can't blew through the wall. I'm not the greatest." The wind answered.

"Mr. Wall, you must be the greatest in the world."

"Not really. As you see, you and your friends make holes in me. You are the greatest." The wall said.

After thinking, the mouse realized that in life no one is the greatest nor the best. Mice will be killed and preyed by other animals, and so on.

Message:

As Yin & Yang concept, everything, every creature have no absolute superiority. Each superiority or talent we have will be followed by inferiority or badness.

So do men; each has his/her own specific and unique talent. In the same time, he/she has inferiority or weakness.

Find and nurture talent and potency you have. In the same time, minimize weaknesses end inferiority could prevent your step; surely, you'll gain your success.
